26, 241, 590, 2109 Networking has helped massively

It always amazes me how you can come so far in a year….how much Networking has helped me grow. Networking could help you to, here’s my article to help you help networking help you.

Networking help buseinsses get known

Networking brings local people together.

May 11th 2015 I published this blog about a few things I had learnt form my first 120 4Networking Meetings.

Now we are on May 11th 2016, I’ve now been to 241 meetings (so I guess 120 a year will be my norm).

I’ve had 590 people look at my 4Networking Profile these are 590 people who wouldn’t have known about me if it wasn’t for 4Networking.

What’s changed in 12 months?

I’ve posted on the 4Networking forum 2,109 times, each time I post a signature which was designed by another 4N member and is linked back to my website is posted.  Due to the frequency of posts  on the forum, Google likes the forum, so every time I post I help to raise my Google profile.

I’ve received 26 member testimonials  – for  me that is staggering, that’s over 2 people a month who have left messages of thanks or praise since I joined 4N.

I’m still Area Leader for 3 Meetings, Macclesfield,  Cheadle  and Stockport . These take me around an hour to two hours each week, but it isn’t time spent on networking, it time spent on raising the profile of my business.

What’s networking about?

Networking is about caring, it’s sharing, it’s about support, it’s about community, it’s about family. It isn’t about Sales, it’s about building relationships, it’s about brand awareness, it’s about giving for free because we know if you support other people, build a community, build solid relationships, build brand awareness, then you will build your business.

Stefan Thomas, author of Business Networking for Dummies, helps people, specifically he’s really helped me, get the most from networking.

Todd Todd from Spaghetti Agency, joined 4N about the same time as I did. He’s from Warwick but through 4N and social media we’ve built a really strong relationship. He’s also written an article about what he got out of his first 100 4N meetings, go on read it, don’t just take my word that it works, read someone else’s too.

I said above that networking isn’t about sales, however sometime it can be. I recently saw this  on the 4Networking forum and I wanted you to know it’s as much about the follow up as it is the conversations you have at the meetings.

What do I get from networking?

I am now getting enquiries from people I’ve never met because people who have met me (only a couple of times) are remembering me and suggesting I might be the right person to call. This is a statement I put in my blog last September, “Networking, Invoicing and England”it was true last September and it is certainly still true now.

However I’m also helping people I’ve never met, giving them advice / guidance / help most of the time I give this for free, why? Well it helps get me remembered and also builds my company, my profile and awareness of myself and what I do.

How do you grow your business, is it networking?

How do you raise your profile?

Why do you chose to do it that way?

What ways have you tried that didn’t work for you?

You know I love your thoughts.
